NAGAR KIRTAN IN HONOUR OF SHRI GURU NANAK DEV JI GURUPURAB

Nagar Kirtan in Honour of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Gurupurab GD Goenka Public School, Sirsa, celebrated the pious occasion of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Gurupurab with great devotion and reverence through a grand Nagar Kirtan organised within the school premises. The entire school community came together to seek the divine blessings of Baba Nanak and to imbibe his teachings of peace, humility, and service. The ceremony commenced from the front gate of the school with a soulful Ardaas, invoking the blessings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji to begin the proceedings. The Nagar Kirtan began with students carrying the sacred portrait of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, leading the way with devotion and faith. Students performed Gatka, the traditional Sikh martial art, displaying their discipline, courage, and grace. In an act of humility and respect, students also cleared the path with brooms as the procession moved ahead, symbolizing equality and seva. Young Goenkans showered the holy procession with flowers, while others offered Prasad to the sangat accompanying the Nagar Kirtan. The entire campus echoed with the chanting of Shabads and the divine message of “Ik Onkar,” spreading spiritual energy in every corner of the school. The procession concluded in the school auditorium, where a special assembly was conducted. The management members and the Principal bowed before the portrait of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, seeking his blessings. The students presented the thought, word, and topic of the day, along with Shabad Kirtan and Gatka performances, filling the atmosphere with devotion and divine joy.
