CELEBRATION OF THE 555TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF SHRI GURU NANAK DEV JI, GD GOENKA PUBLIC SCHOOL, SIRSA,

Grand Nagar Kirtan & Special Assembly at GD Goenka Public School, Sirsa 🌸 In celebration of the 555th birth anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, GD Goenka Public School, Sirsa, organized a magnificent Nagar Kirtan and a Special Assembly, highlighting the timeless teachings of Baba Nanak. The ceremony commenced with a soulful ‘Ardaas,’ seeking Waheguru's blessings to start the proceedings. A beautifully adorned portrait of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji was placed in a decorative Palki Sahib, with students walking reverently as part of the 'sadh sangat.' The procession embraced tradition and spirituality, featuring a marching band, students performing Gatka – the Sikh martial arts, and some students symbolically sweeping the path as a sign of humility where Guru Ji’s caravan passed. Flower petals showered gracefully onto the procession, creating a divine and vibrant atmosphere. Upon reaching the main ground, the management team honored the esteemed ‘Panj Pyaras’ with siropas (robes of honor) as a mark of deep respect and received their blessings. Teachers also honored the Principal Ma’am and management members, symbolizing unity and reverence. The Nagar Kirtan gracefully crossed each corner of the school, where students greeted Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s portrait with bowed heads, seeking his blessings. One of the main highlights of the event was the mesmerizing Gatka performance, leaving everyone captivated. The procession then continued to the auditorium, where students showcased Shabad Kirtan, meaningful acts, and choreographed performances inspired by Guru Ji’s teachings.
